It was just in the beginning of the 20th century when the Swedish chemist Svante Arrhenious stated that the CO2 released into the earth’s atmosphere by burning fuel fossils will alter the climate conditions of the planet. At 1930, published empirical data showed that such changes were already occurring,while at 1960 measurements carried out by the Mauna Loa Observatory (Hawaii), proved that the levels of CO2 into the atmosphere were steadily increasing.
The human family numbering now over 6 billion is clearly the most biologically successful species on planet Earth. We have evolved from our birthplaces on the African continent to colonize every part of Earth, consuming 40% of all its primary photosynthetic production – leading to the current and mass extinction of other species.
